“As a lighting charge, this play was an engaging challenge for my creativity. How does one light a show that specifies a lack of electricity right in its title? I learned more about natural light sources—their look, the way they act—and analyzed them more closely than ever conceived. I learned to allow things to look messy–to allow wires to sit out and around for the sake of a grungy, post-apocalyptic look. I typically see myself as a fairly cautious person- I ask before I do most things, I don't often enter any situations that I know will lead to problems. Mr. Burns helped me break out of that mold, guiding me to see the ingenuity in being messy, allowing me to foster the ever-important skill of problem-solving.” –– Danielle Yampuler, Lighting Designer
